Guftagoo: A conversational journey Since 2011

A heart to heart interview based show of Rajya Sabha TV. Guftagoo is an explorative-inquisitive and intimate conversation with celebrities and important people from various fields. Show’s host is Syed Mohd Irfan. It is an attempt to put together the guest’s concerns, ideas, passions towards his/her fields and reflections on existing time and society. Interspersed with relevant visuals/songs/video clips and inputs from person’s work.

Buddhadeb Dasgupta

Buddhadeb Dasgupta is a poet and prominent contemporary Bengali filmmaker, most known for films like Bagh Bahadur, Tahader Katha, Charachar and Uttara. Five of his films have won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film, Bagh Bahadur (1989), Charachar (1993), Lal Darja (1997), Mondo Meyer Upakhyan (2002) and Kaalpurush (2008), while Dooratwa (1978) and Tahader Katha (1993) have won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Bengali. As a director, he has won National Film Award for Best Direction twice, for Uttara (2000) and Swapner Din (2005). Over the years he has published several works of poetry including Govir Araley, Coffin Kimba Suitcase, Himjog, Chhaata Kahini, Roboter Gaan, Sreshtha Kabita, and Bhomboler Ascharya Kahini O Ananya Kabita.

Basu Chatterjee

Basu Chatterjee is an Indian film director and screenwriter. Through the 1970s and 1980s, he became associated with what came to be known as middle cinema or middle-of-the-road cinema, with filmmakers such as Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Basu Bhattacharya, whom he assisted in Teesri Kasam (1966). Like their films, his films also dealt with light-hearted stories of middle-class families often in urban settings, focusing on marital and love relationships, with exceptions such as Ek Ruka Hua Faisla (1986) and Kamla Ki Maut (1989), which delved into social and moral issues. He is best known for his films Us PaarChhoti Si Baat (1975), Chitchor (1976), Rajnigandha (1974), Piya Ka Ghar (1972), Khatta Meetha Chakravyuha (1978 film)Baton Baton Mein (1979), Priyatama(1977), Man PasandHamari Bahu AlkaShaukeen (1982)[, and Chameli Ki Shaadi (1986), which was his last commercially successful movie.

Anurag Kashyap

Anurag Kashyap is an Indian film director, writer, editor, producer and actor known for his works in Hindi cinema. He is the recipient of several accolades, including a National Film Award, and four Filmfare Awards. For his contributions to film, the Government of France awarded him the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Knight of the Order of Arts and letters) in 2013.
